What Genre is Your Life?

As a human being, you’re really a great adventurer.

As Sting says, “We are spirits in a material world.”

We’ve got these incredibly complex Minds and we’re interacting with all these others complex creatures in an ever-changing environment.

And because we have such amazing creative powers, we can choose our own adventure!

Choose Your Own Adventure

Remember those neat books as a kid where you could make decisions and change how the story would go?

You have that opportunity with your life!

It doesn’t matter where you are right now, so much as where you decide you want to go.

And that’s why I’m asking the question:

“What genre is your life?”

Is it a comedy? Action-adventure? Romance?
Is it all of these perfectly combined for your experiential pleasure?

(I’m offering some of my favorite options here.)

You are writing the story of your life . . .

You are at the center of the action. The plot line is unfolding as you make your choices each day.

If you can step back and observe yourself, as if from a distance, how would you characterize the show you’re starring in?

I think this little exercise can actually help you step up your game. You can look objectively at your life.

Perhaps you’ll decide you like what you see. You want to keep going along in the same direction. Maybe just pick up the pace . . .

Or maybe you discover that you want to change things up in a major way. The script, the cast, the setting, everything . . .

Or you find that you’re somewhere in between these two extremes. A few tweaks here and there and you’re good to go.

Name Your Game

This is what’s so cool about life.

It’s up to you. Make your life what you want it to be.

Don’t let limiting beliefs hold you back or keep you down.

Believe in yourself and the awe-inspiring powers of your Creative Mind.

Love is behind-the-scenes, and She can bring any Vision into reality.

She works closely with the actors and actresses who call for a brilliant director to the enhance the performance.

So really ask yourself, “What genre is my life?”

If you feel like it’s a tragedy and you’re really all set, start a whole new plot line that’s closer to what you’re really going for.

Remember, it’s totally up to you to create your life. Embrace your movie star status and own the show!
