How To Love Yourself in 5 Simple Steps

We all know that self-Love is critical to a happy life.

But that doesn’t mean that we know how to Love ourselves.

And Love can seem like a lovely idea, but also hard to put into concrete terms.

It’s possible though. Because Love comes to life in our thoughts, words and actions. And before we can become consistently Loving towards others, we must practice self-Love on a daily basis.

Instead of leaving it as an airy concept or some hard-to-attain mystical state of being, let’s look at some action items to help self-Love become a verb . . . Things you can do that express Love and help you feel so much better about yourself!

Action is the cure for fear (And lots of other problems, including a lack of self-Love).

So what can you do to Love yourself today?

Exercise – This is so much more than a way to look good. It’s not a superficial activity. Getting your body moving makes you feel good physically. And also mentally, emotionally and spiritually too.

Someone once said, “We were born to move.” And it’s true.

Nutrition  feeding yourself well is another key component of nourishing the sacred vessel of your soul. Start by drinking lots of water. (An ounce for every pound . . . Every single day!) Then focus on vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds and whole grains.

Hint: If it’s a food product that’s processed, read the ingredients. If the list is too long or has high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated items, skip it!

Rest – Getting enough sleep drastically improves how you feel overall, while fatigue can lead to some dangerous consequences. Make sufficient rest time a priority on your schedule!

Soul food – Nurture your spirit daily with reading, writing or some activity that lights you up. You want to make sure that you’re consistently providing your mind with positive input. We create our lives with through our thoughts and actions, so it’s extremely important that we inform ourselves of the amazing possibilities that exist for us.

Connect – Get support on your self-Love journey from other like-minded people. If you’re reading this Love Post, you’ve already discovered a place where you can reach out for Love, encouragement and inspiration from me and other members of the community at A More Loving World.
