Show Your Love. Take Initiative!

This edition of The Love Post is part of a series. We’ll be reviewing Napoleon Hill’s 17 Principles of Success and how they relate to creating a life that you absolutely Love.

 Personal Initiative

The power that starts all action.

Personal initiative is the underlying foundation of everyone who achieves significance. The minute you have the drive and passion  to think and act on your own, there’s no limit to what you can accomplish.

~Napoleon Hill

You are the only one that knows what’s inside you. You are the only one that can bring your unique message and gifts to the world.

And until you go beyond just thinking about what you Love, no one else will be able to see the beauty of your inner world.

It is absolutely vital that you decide to take full responsibility for creating your own reality. Any time spent expecting someone else to get things done or make things happen will just prolong your frustration with circumstances that are not of your making.

As soon as you realize that You have the power to design and craft your life, you stop wasting time waiting for others to change. You are free to take action to improve your level of happiness.

Show Your Love

Now that you’ve committed to acting on your own behalf, make a plan to maximize the effectiveness of your initiative.

Take time to define exactly where you want to be six months or a year from now. Then reverse engineer milestones along the way from there back to where you are right now.

Look for ways to upgrade your surroundings to reflect an empowered Spirit and a determined Mind. It’s amazing what a bit of organizing and cleaning can do to motivate and inspire you.

Think about baby steps you can take each and every day to bring you closer to your goals.

Determine the fundamental daily activities you need to practice in order to be the person you want to be. (For example, I know that the following habits are critical to my success: eat well, stay hydrated, exercise, get plenty of rest, meditate/journal, read)

What healthy habits will keep you on track? Take the initiative to schedule these into your day. No excuses. Employ more discipline than you ever have before.

You know it’s worth it because this is what will allow you to live a life worthy of your immeasurable personal value.

And when it seems like you don’t have the time to take care of yourself, remember that those you Love are learning from your example.

Be a model of self-Love in order to teach others how important it is to stay well so that we can support each other in becoming our very best selves!

Remember: Taking initiative can mean asking for help. You don’t need to do everything yourself. In fact, people that succeed are fantastic team builders and help others get involved in accomplishing big things.
