Love and the Art of Time Management

Tick, tock, tick, tock.

Life goes by . . . There’s no stopping it.
But how it goes by is up to you.

Seasons come and go. An elderly friend of mine used to say the passing seasons made him dizzy. After a long life, a season can feel like the blink of an eye.

But have you ever noticed that a moment can last longer if you are very present to it?

Mindfulness wins you more Time

Mindfulness is a powerful way to get more from your time. When you want to improve your time management skills, start by becoming present to each moment.

Center yourself in Love right now . . .

This is the best position from which to create flow and creative productivity.

With meditation, you can increase your ability to be mindful throughout your day.
A few minutes spent connecting to your breathing and quieting your mind can help you accomplish more before bedtime arrives.

Build a Love Schedule

As Frances Booth points out in her helpful article on Forbes, you will do well to focus on having sufficient time to do what’s important to you. In truth, you can “make time” by choosing how you use every second of your day.

When you’re deciding how to spend your time – your most precious, irreplaceable resource – make sure to use Love as your guide.

Life is too short to fritter away the beauty and wonder of each day . . .

Thoughts of discontent or energy spent on negativity is a waste of your potential.

Even if you aren’t satisfied with your current obligations, it’s within your power to transform your schedule.

First, look at how you spend your time right now.

Monitor your schedule for at least a week. Check in about every fifteen minutes on your activity. Write this down to see where your time is going.

Love and the Art of Time ManagementAsk yourself:
What unwanted tasks can I reduce or eliminate completely?
Are there wasted windows of time that can be reclaimed or re-purposed?

Envision your ideal day. How would you spend each hour? Write down your dream schedule.

Find a way to incorporate bits and pieces of your dream schedule into your current calendar of events.

Make sure that the activities that you Love most become part of your daily routine.

Reclaim your lost moments by scheduling time dedicated to what you truly value.

Love and the Art of Time Management

With Love, you can take charge of your time.

You can continue to do what you already do, but with a new sense of awareness and empowerment.

Be present and pay attention to what makes you happy. If you find yourself desiring change, be peaceful and know that you can make it happen.

Instead of getting disgruntled with your situation, feel gratitude for the opportunity to take action and improve your circumstances.

Again, focus on clearly defining how you do want to spend your time. Then, write down steps you can take to make your day move towards that ideal.

Like all areas of your life, time management will benefit from applying Love to the task.
