Come Home to Love

I had the fantastic experience of (virtually) attending a Tony Robbins presentation last night.

Not surprisingly, I’m a changed woman.Tony Robbins. Come Home to Love

Tony is a master of helping individuals improve their lives by teaching practical psychology, as he called it.

And I left that session feeling more equipped than ever to create my desired reality ~ right now and into the future.

Where Do You Live?

Tony asked us to do this exercise:

Take a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle. On one side, write down positive emotions that you experience at least once a week. On the other, write the negative emotions that you also feel on a regular basis.

Go ahead and do that exercise for yourself now.

Then circle the top 2 negative and the top 2 positive emotions that you feel pretty frequently.

This describes your typical state. It determines what you think, how you feel, and therefore, how you behave.

This is where you live.

Then Tony challenged us to come up with a word to describe a state that could lift us to a higher place  . . .

And he invited us to move . . .

Come Home to Love

You have the power to move to a new emotional home. Make your “normal” state the one that serves you best.

If you know me at all (Through my writing or otherwise), I’m sure you’re not surprised to hear that I chose Love as my ultimate state of being.

And I’m inviting you to join me in choosing a Loving state of being as your new way of life, your emotional home . . .

The place you come back to even if you go for occasional rides on the emotional roller coaster of life.

I encourage you to identify the positive state that helps you connect with your true, highest self.

Determined, inspired, empowered, passionate, enthusiastic, relaxed, confident, faithful, courageous, grateful . . . any of these power virtues will do.

Or any feeling that you come up with to describe your ideal state of being.

Go ahead and decide that this is where you want to live. This is how you want to show up. This is the place from which you want to experience your magnificent existence.

Become a Homebody

Then, to really get grounded in your favorite state of being, flex your emotional muscles often.

Push yourself to take charge of your life by mastering your mental and emotional state.

Tony taught the powerful lesson of gaining control of yourself quickly with two simple methods.

Change your physiology. Emotion comes from motion, so move your body in a new and different way to get yourself feeling like a whole new person.

Specifically, he had us jumping up and down and celebrating!

He asked us, “How are you going to feel when you achieve your dream?”
And we went to that state of being right then!

Change your focus.

Decide to pay attention to what makes you feel good, what you’re thankful for and what you can control. (i.e. ~ Your thoughts and emotions!)

What you focus on, you feel, even if it’s not true.

So even if it’s not easy, push yourself to stay focused on your coming back to your chosen emotional home often.

This is where you’re centered and alive and powerful. It’s where you can be your most authentic, radiant self.

And as Tony so wisely said, “The fastest way out of suffering is to serve others.”

Connect with something bigger than yourself. Let Love guide you to greatness.

Come home to Love.
