Love is Learnable.

Now, this is incredibly exciting news because it means that it’s never too late for us to launch our Love lives! And I don’t just mean romance, either.

I’m giving you the heads up that Love is available to you right now. Even if your past has handed you a raw deal, you can get busy learning how to Love yourself and create Love around you. In fact, I highly recommend that we all get to work learning how to be better lovers. It’s the key to improving both our individual and collective quality of life.

Think about it. If you are in Love, everything feels good and right and dreamy. Even if there are all kinds of problems in the world, you are floating on a cloud of unsinkable bliss. So doesn’t it make sense to focus on feeling that all the time?

There’s a whole lot of talk about success out there. And that’s awesome. But what are we after when we are striving for success? It seems to me that loving how you spend your days and who you get to spend them with is at the heart of the “s” word. And really, your chances of succeeding without Love are slim to none, I think.

So let’s see if we can’t learn a thing or two about Love and how to work it, shall we?

First and foremost, you absolutely need to Love yourself in a major way to become the best version of you and attract the Love you seek. Starting within is the only way to blossom in the world.

Reflecting on the Big Love that inspires, motivates and drives some of the most successful people I know, I’ve got an idea to share. I’d like you to use your imagination with me for a minute. Think of your favorite person. Someone you truly admire. Maybe you’ve never met in person, maybe you are fortunate enough to be with him or her on a regular basis. Either way, they are a bright light to you. A shining star on your people radar.

Now, pretend that you are them. That’s right, instead of directing that positive loving energy outward towards that special someone, feel all that warm and fuzzy for the one-and-only you. No matter where you’re at on your journey, know that at this moment, you are as deserving of all that same Love. You are that special someone. Full of fantastic potential. Pure Love is at your core.

Spend a few moments (or more) considering how your beloved person takes care of him or herself. What loving habits do you practice to continually increase your well-being? What specific activities do you engage in to be healthy and vibrant? How do you think and feel that allows your light to shine brightly for others to see?

When I think of the high performers out there, I feel sure that they have tapped into this truth. They not only Love themselves, they Love everyone as equally lovable and important. True Self Love recognizes and acknowledges that we are all connected. Taking good care of your own being is the first step in taking care of other people too.

Believe that you are as lovable as the most lovable person you know. Because you are!

love is learnableIf you aren’t feeling it, say to yourself over and over and over, “I Love You.” These words are powerful and worth repeating as often as necessary to get into a better state.

Just like Marie Forleo says, “Everything is figure outable.” (If you don’t know Marie, she’s awesome! Check her out at marieforleo.com.) I’m here to tell you that Love, like anything, is learnable.
