Where’s the Love?

My friend and I had a great conversation the other day about understanding unpleasant interactions with other people.

Sometimes we have experiences that make us wonder . . . “Where’s the Love? ”

When we cross paths with someone who treats us unkindly, it’s easy to get upset and actually take on their grumpy demeanor. But this just gives away our power of self-control. Doing so takes on the role of victim, which never serves us well.

Instead, we can choose to reject this emotional poison. We can decide to stop this flow of energy in its tracks and replace it with a higher frequency.

This is a perfect time to practice compassion. You may have no idea what’s going on in that person’s life. (This is especially true if it’s a phone interaction with someone you’re speaking with for the first time.) They could be going through anything from a really rough day to a whole lifetime of feeling unloved.

Even though there is always Love available, not everyone knows this yet. Every encounter with a person who is acting less than Loving is a chance to share the Love that you possess.

The Love is in you!

When I run into someone who seems determined to pass their misery along to me, I think to myself, “My Goodness, I’m glad that I am not in their shoes! They need to live with themselves twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week!”

It makes me feel especially thankful for all the Love I have in my life. If at all possible, I share my positive vibration with them. If I can lift their spirit even a bit, I’ve taken a potentially negative experience and turned it into a bright spot in the day. We can both leave the interaction a bit better off than when we started.

The Love is in you.  Sharing Love feels great!

Another idea we talked about is understanding that everything happens for a reason. Even if we can’t understand why we are having to deal with what seems negative at the moment, we can decide to adopt the attitude that something good will come from it. In the long run, everything will work out for the best.

It is up to us to focus on what we want and attract more and more fun and uplifting experiences into our lives. Still, any situation can be seen as a learning experience and an opportunity to share the unconditional Love that you have discovered within you.
